Literature Text
I'm warning you.
That boy is no cup of tea,
though cups of tea we often would share.
I am not a smart girl,
but I can tell you what comes next.
He loves you... He leaves you.
And you end up like me,
writing poetry in the bathtub,
wondering:
How does it feel to sink?
If this tub had no bottom,
and I let myself plummet
into an eternity of water...
Wouldn't that be fantastic?
And no,
I've never quite learned how to swim.
That boy is no cup of tea,
though cups of tea we often would share.
I am not a smart girl,
but I can tell you what comes next.
He loves you... He leaves you.
And you end up like me,
writing poetry in the bathtub,
wondering:
How does it feel to sink?
If this tub had no bottom,
and I let myself plummet
into an eternity of water...
Wouldn't that be fantastic?
And no,
I've never quite learned how to swim.
I really did write this from the tub... Just in case you were wondering.

This poem, I can relate to Quite well and I know how you feel to a T the lines "I am not a smart girl, but I can tell you what comes next.He loves you... He leaves you." it make me, Sort of upset. Also ... I just the last line, Iv never quite learned how to swim" I am honestly afraid of my bathtub and Im always scared of drowning, no not really to a T, but I know the message behind this... Very touching.
